Picture this – your neighborhood is gleaming with beautiful luminary lights. You, your family, and friends are gathered around with their children and grandchildren, enjoying a cup of hot cocoa and dashing through the twinkling lights set up outside.

This is “Luminary Night”, hosted by Westwood Community Chest (WCC) for the third year.  WCC is a volunteer-run nonprofit that grants confidential, temporary financial crisis assistance to Westwood residents in need. Last year, the Westwood Community Chest provided more than $140,000 in emergency funding to our neighbors in need across Westwood.   Our recipients include elderly residents, individuals, and families experiencing job loss or other financial crisis, and families in need of safe summer activities supported through our campership program.

“Luminary Night” kits can be purchased for $20 each. The kits contain 10 tea lights, paper bags and instructions. Because of the generous sponsorship of local businesses, 100% of proceeds will be directed to WCC grants to assist Westwood residents.
